Teachers
Cédric & Caroline
Since they met in 2012, Cédric and Caroline have decided to combine their competences in order to develop both their qualities of dancers and teachers. They are very active leading the local blues and swing scene in Strasbourg (Lindy Spot), as well as they go beyond borders further to dance, teach and perform.
Together, they fell in love with blues since the beginning of their partenership. They have practised and danced a lot to understand how a movement can be easily initiated, from both side of the couple, and how to adapt it to the music.
You will be able to appreciate their dynamic classes, a delicate blend of Cédric’s humor, and Caroline’s poetry. Both of them are keen to impart their ideas through a very progressive pedagogy. One that approaches technique in a very precise and detailed manner, and also teaches movements combining basics, surprises, musicality and grace. Whereas Cédric reminds you of the big principles of musicality, Caroline invites you to explore sensations, emotions and personal expression.
Annette Kühnle
Annette lives in Heidelberg, Germany, and is one of Europe's most prominent champions for blues dance.
As a teacher, dancer, DJ and organizer, she has been spreading her love for early Black American dances in general and blues dancing in particular for almost two decades, and is renowned Internationally for her expertise, dedication, energy, and kindliness.
Her infectious appreciation and passion for blues music, dancing and history shines in every step she takes and every lesson she teaches.

Edmilson Botelho
Born and raised in the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe, Edmilson da Cruz Botelho has always lived surrounded by music, drawing inspiration from the vibrant rhythms of African traditional dances such as Usôa, Puíta, Funaná, Cadence, kizomba, Semba, Kuduro and among many other African dances, as well as POP dance.
His journey into the world of dance began when he moved to Porto, Portugal, at the age of 17, where he discovered his love for Lindy Hop and Blues dance.
As a passionate dancer and teacher, Edmilson embodies the essence of dance, finding joy in every step and rhythm. With his infectious energy and charismatic personality, he creates an atmosphere of fun and humility wherever he goes, inspiring others to feel the beat and express themselves through movement.
The Parties
Let's be lazy at night!
The Lazy Blues parties will be just as lazy and relaxed as the event name suggests. No big fuss, just lots of love for the blues.
Friday night's opening party will be held at Waldheim Wangen.
Saturday's party and the Farewell Coffe & Dance session will take place at the Kulturwerk (same location as the classes)
Please see below for more info on the venues
We will have live music and some great DJ's-tunes between the live sessions.
The Musicians
...where the lazy meets the groove!
For the parties and your joyful dancing, we invited musicians that tell the blues from their hearts.
Bluespapas
Blues with Soul, Swagger, and a Whole Lot of Fun – Reviewers have praised the Bluespapas for delivering “blues packed with fun and good vibes,” and some have even claimed this trio could light up the dance floors of a Louisiana juke joint. Bluesnews, the leading magazine of the German-speaking blues scene, recommends their latest album as a must-have in any well-curated blues collection.
Bluespapas is the fusion of three seasoned musicians with a deep-rooted love for the blues. Guitarist and vocalist Bernd Simon has been a driving force in the German blues circuit for over four decades, earning recognition through projects like the Matchbox Bluesband and Down Home Percolators. Harmonica player Reiner Lenz and bassist Thomas Heldmann toured extensively—performing more than 500 shows at festivals, street parties, clubs, and pubs—with the late, great Jürgen Queissner under the name Papa Legba's Blues Lounge.
Together, the Bluespapas combine their rich stage experience and infectious joy of playing to bring blues in all its vibrant colors to life. From deep grooves to fiery solos, from raw emotion to foot-stomping fun—this is the blues as it was meant to be: real, alive, and full of heart.

Hosting
Dancers from out of town
For a perfectly lazy weekend, dancers from out of town will need a place to get a good night's sleep.
We will be posting some recommendations shortly - we just haven gotten around to checking them out.
For those who do not like or cannot afford staying at a hotel we try to find a host. But unfortunately we cannot guarantee we'll be successful. Please tell us if your situation changes and you do not need hosting anymore, so that we can offer your place to someone else.
